What we learned today:

The world's largest lizard isn't very big. Well, not as big as Jordan expected. Poor kid. He was quite disappointed when he finally laid eyes on the much anticipated Komodo Dragon. Kinda like a kid that expected a big Easter basket, and just got a chocolate bunny.

Jordan was feeling a bit better when he correctly identified a Tiger Shark swimming in the aquarium. I was proud of him. He loves to read shark books, and apparently it's paying off!

Orangutans are very good at capturing an audience! We watched one, our eyes wide with expectation as it acrobatically made it's way up to the highest point near the audience. The kids squinted through the sunlight, waiting for the beast to accomplish its next feat...and all was silent. Suddenly, not missing a thing, Adrian shouted, "LOOK! IT'S PEEING!" And indeed, it was...and we all sat and watched the "rainshower"... what the heck? Adrian wrinkled his nose. "Gross," he rightfully concluded as we moved on.

As we were leaving, I asked Cayden what animals he saw today that started with the letter "M." "Monkey," he said, "Bear..."

"Bear? Does bear start with 'M'?" I interrupted.

"MmmmmBear, " Cayden replied, carefully formulating his new word. "Yup, it does!"

Good going kid. Love how you work the language.

It's our 5th anniversary. We spent it with the kids, at the zoo, and yet we still manage to look good!
